Private Arthur Alldred

Killed in Action 16th June 1915 Age 24

Arthur lived with his parents George Henry and Rose Ellen Alldred of 45, Mercer Street, Newton-le-Willows, although their address is given by CWGC as "The Hollies", Park Road.

Prior to the war, he was employed at the L. and N.-W. Railway (Viaduct) Wagon Works.

Arthur was killed by shrapnel during the First Action at Bellewaarde, during which Clement Elliott, Gilbert Harding and Sam Pierce also perished.

His name is recorded on the Menin Gate at Ieper, Belgium.
