Private Clement James Elliott

1st/4th Battalion South Lancashire Regiment
Died of Wounds 2nd July 1915 Age 19

Private Clement James Elliott was brought up by his aunt who had a boot and shoe business at 68, High Street, Newton. He died of wound sustained during the Action at Bellewaarde, the first major fighting involving the 4th Battalion of the South Lancashire Regiment.His name is on the first list of recruits published in the Newton and Earlestoen Guardian, but under the Royal Army Medical Corps.
