In Memory of

Gunner Patrick Finn

43577
12th New Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery
Killed in Action 8th February 1916, Age 29

Gunner Finn lived at 110, Haydock Street, Earlestown and previous to the war had worked at the Collins Green Colliery. He enlisted in Liverpool at the outbreak of war and was at the front for over twelve months. According to a letter to his brother, mentioned in his obituary in the Warrington Guardian of 15th April 1916, "he was sitting in a hut with five others when a shell fell on the hut, killing Finn and four others and severely wounding the sixth."

Patrick is buried in Row E Grave 18 in Suzanne Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, which is about thirteen kilometres south-east of Albert.
