Private Arthur Lloyd Edwards was the son of Owen and Henrietta Edwards of 75, Devonshire Street, Higher Broughton, Manchester. After this information, CWGC adds "Born at Earlestown, Lancs." No newspaper obituary can be found to provide further personal details.

Arthur died on the first day of the Third Battle of Ypres otherwise known as Passchendaele. He is buried in Tyne Cot Cemetery in Plot LXII Row C Grave 4.
