The CWGC website records that Walter was the son of John and Ann Armstrong, of Haydock Street, Newton-le-Willows, and the husband of Elizabeth Armstrong, of 68, Dudley Street, Warrington.
SDGW states that he was born in Newton-le-Willows and enlisted in Warrington.
Walter is buried in Plot VI Row D Grave 1 in Prospect
Hill Cemetery, Gouy, Aisne, France, Gouy being a village to the east of
the road between Cambrai and St. Quentin.
It has not been possible to find any newspaper obituary so further personal
details can not be provided.
