In Memory of

Private H. Garvin

4439
10th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers
Died 14th November 1916 Age 31

Other than his name on the regularly published Roll of Honour in the Newton and Earlestown Guardian, it has not as yet been possible to find any information about a soldier of this name. His name first appears in the summer of 1917. The soldier whose details are given above may be the one listed on the memorial. He was the brother of Mrs. Mortimer of 15, Frederick Street, Lower Ince, near Wigan. He is buried in Contay British Cemetery, in Plot IV Row D Grave 8.
