In Memory of

Lance Corporal Harry Day

12874
9th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers
Killed in Action 15th April 1916 Age 19

Lance Corporal Harry Day was born in Earlestown. He enlisted in St Helens when he was seventeen. He lived with his sister, Mrs. Lambert, at 28, Booth Street, Earlestown, prior to joining the army.

He went missing in action after only six weeks at the front in April 1916, though his family only received notice that he had been killed in November. Presumably his body had been found as he is buried in Bois-Carre Military Cemetery, in Row F Grave 21.
